One of your babies' biggest discomforts in the first year will be the pain of their teeth coming in.
Interestingly enough, some babies are actually born with their first teeth, but most babies start teething anywhere from three months of age, up to just after their first birthday, with the average age falling around six months old.
Signs you may see of those first teeth coming in can range from sore, red gums, flushed cheeks, or rubbing their ear, to increased drooling (which can cause a rash on their face), excessive gnawing on fingers or objects, or disrupted sleep.
Experiencing these things on a repeated basis can cause increased irritability, and who can blame them?
Send pain packing
One of the best ways to alleviate your twins' pain, aside from cold popsicles, cool washcloths, or pain relief medications such as Tylenol or Motrin, is to offer them a teether to help soothe the ache and inflammation in their tender gums.
One of our twins' favorite teether toys was the Munchkin Twisty Figure 8 Teether.
With bright, saturated colors, this interesting toy quickly caught their eyes and their attention. For months on end, it provided continuous comfort. They were rarely seen without it in their hands, between their teeth, or on their head.
Fun for fine motor skills
The unique twistable design allows the teether to be turned and maneuvered into several different shapes, helping your little ones to develop their motor and sensory skills while chewing, gnawing, and gumming the toy to relieve their discomfort.
It can even be shaped to form a fun hat that can be balanced on your head, if you place it just so, and the grippy material prevents the makeshift chapeau from sliding off.
Designed for relief
Four BPA-free teething surfaces featuring different-textured patterns give your babies a tactile experience with a variety of options for finding the section that gives them the finest mouth feel and works best to soothe their irritated gums.
An incorporated rattle keeps your kiddos entertained, and as much as they shake the teether like a composer's baton to make music, their continual noise won't grate on your nerves because the sounds are subtle and subdued, thanks to the teether 's thoughtful design.
It's logged some serious chewing time with our twins, from when they first started teething until their last teeth pushed through, and it's still in perfect condition.

The Twisty Figure 8 is easy for little hands to grasp and the grip of the chewing sections makes it easy to hold and play with, which is good because if your twins are anything like mine, they're not gonna wanna let it go.
